Mrs. Bush and daughters saw Gypsy last night; I wonder if the cast was alerted in advance?

"About a half-hour after the performance, Ms. Peters exited, and said that Mrs. Bush and her daughters had visited backstage. "She said she loved the show," Ms. Peters said, adding that Mrs. Bush said she was in the city for a Fashion Week event." (New York Times, 2/8/04)

Were the article's authors trying to make some kind of obscure joke by calling "Rose's Turn" "Momma's Turn", or was it just a flub?

Probably an error-the NYT prints bad errors in their theater coverage from time to time. When the theater forum on the NYT site was more active, the posters would point them out.

How awesome that the show is now getting so much publicity with this and the Grammy. Kind of ironic too. Was anyone in the audience during this performance??

Laura Bush was just on Live! With Regis and Kelly talking about how much she enjoyed Bernadette in the show.
She made it seem like it was just her and her daughter Jenna that went...I don't think Barbara was there?

I wonder if this will help boost ticket sales now? The mention in the paper, and Mrs. Bush and Regis talking about it on national television.

Christine, I saw her on this morning too and I was thinking the same thing about ticket sales. I was hoping Regis might have even mentioned the grammy too.
