I'm going to see Gypsy next month and I am wondering what it's like outside the stage door after the show. Is it really crowded? Are there barriers?

It is really crowded especially on Saturday and Friday nights and if its not too cold. (But it probably will be freezing) There are barriers on both sides of the stage door. It's best if you like run out of the theatre as fast as you can so you get first in line against the barriers..but don't push anyone over lol.

i went in the FREEZING cold and there were still many of people. you want to be out there as soon as possible, even thought it'll be a while before the "action" starts. if you don't get out quickly, you'll be towards the back and you might miss her. but it's so worth everything. i think that was just one giant ramble. sorry if i made no sense!

how'd you like them eggrolls, mr. goldstone?!

Thanks. If you want to get a card to her before the show who do you give it to?

When I wanted to drop a card off, I knocked on the stage door. (You might have to open the first one and knock on the one right inside that one) but be polite about it all. There should be a door person there or just inside. Just ask them if they could give the card to Bernadette. They were very nice about it when I did it.

When I went a few weeks ago, I dropped off my card before the show and gave it to Patty, her assitant. Then when Bernadette came out I said "Hi, I'm Noah! I gave you the card..." and she said "Card? I didn't get a card" then she turned to her assitant and she said "Oh Noah, yes I have it here." I was hoping Bernadette would get to see it before she came outside but unfortunately she didn't.
I gave her a bouqet of flowers and got a few pictures with her. She really gives everyone time even in the freezing cold (it was 8 degrees when I went, first week of January).

I was there last Friday night and there were not too many people waiting, maybe about 10, and everyone got their pics and autographs, but it was about 15 degrees with a wind chill. My entire face was numb when we got back to our hotel down the street. But I'd freeze to death to meet Bernadette any day..hehe. I think it will not be too bad as long as you go in winter.

I'm just chiming in for Chip if that is okay. I think what Bernadette assistant looks like is fairly well known so he was probably able to recognize her.

The woman I thought was her assistant, Patty, had long brown hair.

Well it seems like every stage door picture I see, Patty seems to be in the background but now I can't seem to find any online.

She does have brown hair with grey in it.

Here's another picture of Patty and some others including Bernadette's publicist, Judy Katz, and Maureen Moore.

Hello!
I have tickets to see the matinee performance on Feb 28th....Bernadette's birthday! Anyway, I know that she does not come out between the matinee and evening performances, but do you think I would still be able to get a small birthday present to her at the stage door after or before the matinee? Unfortunately with my travel arrangements I cannot go back after the evening performace, but still would like to give her a small present. Any ideas (either through PM or on the board) would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
