Hi guys--
I thought you all might like to know that the previews for GYPSY are set to begin on March 24th and opening night is set for April 24th.

That is awesome...I am so excited, now all I gotta do is get myself to NYC!!!!!!!!

Cindy, how do you do it!?!?! You are always one step ahead of everyone in knowing information! We'd be lost without you!
This is so exciting knowing that in less than 7 months Bernadette will be back on Broadway! And to think- I just e-mailed Kevin and told him how boring "Bernadette News" has been! I couldn't have been more off!

Hi guys--
I should have mentioned this in my original post but I hope everyone realizes that these dates are not necessarily set in stone( especially not in this business). I just wanted to make everyone aware of this so people aren't like planning big vacations to NYC for opening night or something.

Just for fun, you can see the offer for group sales for "Gypsy" at "showtixinc.com/listings/shows/gypsy.htm".
Hmm--no Sunday matinee, but a Monday evening instead? And, a top price FOR GROUPS of $110 Saturday evening??
Oh well, although I'll be out of the country for opening night, I think it would be fun to be at the first preview.

Actually I think top ticket prices will be $125.Many shows in the past few years are diverging from the traditional Tues-Sunday(8 shows a week) shedule. many shows are begining to have a 7pm curtain call once a week.

is there any info as to which theatre in NYC? thanks. I am planning a trip in the spring to view the Modern's exhibition of Matisse/Picasso and this will be such a great bonus to see Bernadette on Broadway while there.

The Shubert is looking like a very definate possibility. However CHICAGO is still playing there so I think for legal reasons they haven't officially made the announcement.Plus, holding off on the announcement is increasing the suspense and adding to the hype. They're probably still working out the gliches.

Yes, the seating chart on the group sales website is exactly like The Shubert so they are probably just waiting to officially announce Chicago is either being closed or moved before they can say Gypsy will be at The Shubert. I would be quite surprised if it didn't go into the Shubert.

Oh i feel like crying, I'm so disappionted! The original plan was to show Gypsy with bernadette, in the west end of London which I could go and see but now, I'm afraid that she won't come to London when gypsy comes over here. whats your opinion?

It's been confirmed..the top ticket price for GYPSY will be $100 not $125 as previously reported. And to answer your question Jenny- when Bernadette first told me about GYPSY coming to Broadway first rather than London she did seem a *little* bummed. She loves it over there. But I honestly believe that after Sept 11th everyone involved with the show decided that it'd be a much better and much safer idea keeping the show closer to home.
