| George, BP and Mandy |
It's been quite a while since I've seen Bernadette and I just couldn't wait for today to come. Bernadette & Mandy Patinkin were going to autograph their musical storybook at Barnes & Noble in Union Square. Since this was such a special occasion, I felt new "duds" were in order. I wanted to look just like "Dewey", so I got a pair of overalls, a red shirt and brand new sneakers!!!
Before Bernadette & Mandy arrived I had the best time seeing some true - blue Bernadette fans. Lots of people came over & commented on my new outfit. Bernadette has the best fans in the world.
Finally it was time for Bernadette & Mandy to go on stage. Bernadette looked so pretty. Since we were in the front row I had no trouble seeing her. She looked right at me and gave me a big smile -- I knew for sure that she liked my new clothes. Mandy and Bernadette did a wonderful job reading the story to us. We also received a big surprise when Dewey himself appeared on stage. Alan Green, one of the authors was also there.
Everyone then began to line up so Bernadette & Mandy could autograph their books. When it was my turn Bernadette turned to Mandy and said "Look Mandy, this is George!" Mandy thought I indeed was a cool dog. Bernadette gave me a big hug then I had my picture taken with her & Mandy. She loved my sneakers and thought that it was a really nice tribute that I wanted to dress like Dewey.
Before I left some really wonderful & devoted fans asked if they could have their picture taken with me. I felt so special that Sister Rose and Chip wanted a photo. They were so nice & lots of fun to be around.
I listened to the CD today, as I looked at all my autographs. Even Dewey signed my book & posed for a picture with me. It was a wonderful and exciting day and made me feel good inside knowing that Bernadette & Mandy took time from their busy schedules to help such a noble cause as the Christopher Reeve Paralysis Foundation.
