Someone on All That Chat posted a very positive review of the show and it seems they went some time today. So it sounds like Friday was just a down night. Glad they got their groove back. I can't wait to see it again. When or when will that be?

I think its no secret that most people who work with Bernadette quickly learn not only what an incredible performer she is but what an incredible person she is!! She just has this aura about her that makes everyone around her smile. She not only gives 100% of herself as a performer but as a person. She is always right there with whomever it is she's speaking with and its very apparent. No matter how exhausted she is she's willing to listen and to work harder and its all genuine! Many many people who have worked with her in the past will tell you that they'd work with her again in a heart beat(notice all the people from AGYG in this show). And I have to say that everyone that I know who has worked with her, know her or even met her all seem extremely privileged!! I know I am!! So I hope your enjoying your run in the show with her( which it definitely seems you are) because its a chance of a lifetime!

I totally agree with BwayBaby; the show has improved greatly over the course of 5 days. Most of the stage-settings are completely different (which helps the show a lot). I love how they re-did the Omaha scene (end of act 1); it's much more spacious and obvious that they are waiting at a railroad station.

Everyone's performance was much more powerful and beleivable last night (Tammy's, John's, and especially Bernadette's). I too could tell her voice was going a little (who's wouldn't after months of rehearsals and a straight week of first-time previews). It seemed like she purposely changed the style of some of the songs so that she wouldn't have to hit as many high notes, which worked on her behalf...because when she did hit those notes, WOW!
"Rose's Turn" still blows me away!

After the show, Bernadette even said, "It's been so long since I've had a day off."
I hope (I'm sure) she knows that the fans do appreciate the energy she puts into a performance (well 8 actually)

I have a feeling that Gypsy is one of those shows that I will like more and more each time I see it...and Ialready love it!
Mojul, I'm with you; I would also go every night if I had the money. LOL

I saw last night's performance (4/5)and I was totally in awe of the innovative approach to many aspects of the production-- taking it to a diiferent level in many respects. Having seen Gypsy 6 times before (Merman, Giselle Mckenzie, Lansbury-London, Lansbury-New York, Daly, and Lavin) I believe that this productiion may end up being the best. I loved the sets -- after all it is "a backstage musical" Bernadette Peters "acted" many of the songs instead of just singing them -- Sondheim should be proud.
I believe the show had become too old fashioned and stale -- this new production's approach is fresh and new, and I believe, after a month, will be praised. Bernadette Peters may be seen as the greatest Mama Rose.

Oh, I completely forgot to post this...I was told June Havoc was in the audience on Monday as well( although I didn't see her) and I was told she seemed very pleased with the production!
