The folks "in the know" over on broadwayworld.com are speculating that Hello Dolly is coming to Broadway and that a "major Broadway star" is in talks...some think it's Bernadette.

**I know this is just idle speculation, from people who may--or may not--know anything.
**

I'd like to see Bernadette in another big, all-out musical where she can use her humor, warmth, and understanding of the lyrics to good effect--this Dolly might just be it. Although, as I've said (too many times) I'd love to see her in a non-musical, small, intense comedy-drama in a small off-Broadway theater.

I saw a production of Prime of Miss Jean Brodie this past Spring--I'm thinking,hmm..could work.

I'm dreaming and floating (no not really).

I would like Christine Baranski to stay in the role of Mame if it does come to Broadway....since I will not get the chance to see it in DC.

I just had to pick myself up off the floor - BP in Hello Dolly? Yes!!! Hello Dolly was the first major touring production I saw in Austin, TX - and Carol Channing was in it!

(And having seen Christine B. in MAME...she should stay in it)

Looks like Mame isn't coming to Broadway...

There is a revival of A Little Night Music in the works? Any details?

Yes, I've always thought Bernadette would be great as Jean Brodie. She has such great comic timing as well as all the other acting requirements for the role and she even has that wonderful "period" look.

I was watching something a couple of days ago and Bernadette spoke in what she meant to be a Liverpool accent. It was a very brave attempt but in no way sounded even remotely Liverpudlian though it did sound strangely Scottish. So if she ever took the part of Miss Jean Brodie all she would have to do is speak with her "Liverpool" accent- and we would definitely be in business!

as Bernadette says....just keep moving on.....

I noticed that the Manhattan Theater Club is doing The Country Girl next season--I can't remember the movie very well, but I've now got it in my head that Bernadette might do very well in this.

She still is on the Board of Directors of the MTC, although that really doesn't matter.
