I read the link and can't help thinking that we're assuming that BP is playing the role of the adoptive mother. Both adoptive and biological mother roles aren't cast yet. Either way, good luck to the cast and crew (especially BP!!!!) Can't wait to see the show (fingers crossed!)

I think what was posted was the original casting call listing all the characters - probably issued a while ago. The Variety article originally posted states that Bernadette has been cast as Mrs. Leaf and the subsequent links to the advertisements for the pilot show her as the only cast member. The other roles have not been cast yet or at least no official announcement has been made beyond Bernadette's role

"where she proceeds to swig a lot of wine and speak her mind freely."

This could be very funny!

I hope this works out well! It sounds great and I'm just happy to be able to see her in something here in MA (she seems to do some stuff that is only available in certain states/areas)

Now in my unimaginative mind, when I first read about this, I was thinking she could be the birth mother who gave up her son to pursue her performing career and now that her "star is dimming" (why does that sound familiar), she's getting older, and feeling lonely and vulnerable, she seeks out her child and tries to insert herself into his life.

I think I'm going to try and go to the taping if I can get free. Not to be pessimistic, but I know some of these things never see the light of day. I was once contacted by some survey company to watch some dreadful pilot, (I remember all they cared about was what commercials and brands I noticed) but it was being shown way up on the cable dials and they told me when and where to watch. I decided to check back to see what else was being shown and I stumbled across some sitcom pilot with Julie Andrews. She was playing a star of a variety show with a family. I don't know that the show was every actually broadcast on any of the networks. Haven't LuPone, McDonald and others all filmed pilots that weren't picked up?

Hoping for the best though.

Well if you do go to the taping I hope you will take copious notes (unless you have a great memory) and report EVERYTHING back to us.

I shall do my best but it says I'm not allowed to bring in cellphones, pagers, cameras, weapons, backpacks, large bags, radios and recording or electrical devices of any kind.

Where is the taping? Is it in LA? Sorry if you already said I didn't have time to read the whole thing.

IMDB.com has listed Kevin Wheatley as playing Lloyd Leaf in the show. At this point, no other cast members are listed.

Ooooh I can hardly wait! I love sitcoms. I bet Rose will be able to go to the taping and take notes for us. Jenn - quit being a pessimist - no pessimism allowed on this site!

Thanks for finding the info everybody.

If it's this Andrew Walker
http://www.tvtome.com/tvtome/servlet/PersonDetail/personid-11359
one can guess the audience they are going for.

However, if it is this Andrew Walker
http://world.std.com/~awalker/
your guess is as good as mine.
