Oh my gosh are you kidding? I thought everyone had heard that story. Bernadette seems to have told it on every single talk show and in about every magazine article.

Well I have to hit the hay but I'm sure someone else will tell the story.

I thought everyone knew that story too! I think it has been on just about every interview. That's ok though. Well, I am way too tired to type it all out tonight but if no one posts it by tomorrow morning, I promise I will. You may just need to be kept in suspense until then. It really is a cute story which is probably why it has been mentioned in most of her interviews.

Moljul is right--it's been covered extensively. Probably because it's an almost storybook or fairytale-like romantic meeting. In brief, Bernadette was waiting outside her building one night for an escort who was very late. Michael Wittenberg was passing by, all dressed up to go to some formal affair. When he saw her, he stopped and said "Are you ready to go?" They began chatting, and because he had a loose button on his tux, she offered to fix it. He ran across the street to get needle and thread from a tailor shop, and she sewed it back on. Later that night, he left a note with her doorman, including his name and number. After a few more complications, they eventually got together and began dating; within a year or so, marriage followed. There are a lot more details, which you can read about on the internet or maybe on this board, but that's the gist of it.
