Well.........I'm hesitant to voice my opinion here in fear of what people might respond. However, I have been reading these posts today and I feel I have something to say, so here it goes........

First of all, I have been reading the ATC post about Kristin lately and THOSE are vicious and mean! I don't think anyone here is bashing her in that way. It's one of the reasons why I post here and not there.

Second of all, I don't think anyone here has been entirely rude in respect to Kristin. They are just voicing their opinions like they should be able to do. I find that anon posters have an opinion but they don't feel comfortable revealing themselves in fear of what others might think. So I ask myself, how sure are you of your opinion???

I'm not trying to cause a fight I swear. I think both Kristin and Bernadette are wonderful in their own ways. There is room for both of them on Broadway, and I think any comments made about them were harmless and in good fun. If anyone wants to complain I would go and check out those other forums out there.

Sorry about the rant, but I had to say it. I've always felt that the theatre community was a supportive group and when I read things like this here and on other forums it dissapoints me.

Can't everyone just get along!

You either got it, or you aint!

I'm here reading, too, just took a break from evening chores.

I think I'll not say anything more right now, except that this is quite interesting, as much for the way people express themselves as for the actual content.

And no, you do not see Bernadette look alikes. You may see petite women with curly red hair but that this is not a Bernadette look alike. That's like saying that Bernadette Peters and Bette Midler look alike.

Oh okay. lol I didn't realize you were standing beside me those times I have seen people that look like her.
You might see petite women with straight blond hair...I guess that's where you're getting your Kristin look-a-like overflows from? Because if you're saying simply based on facial features, then I must say that BOTH ladies are beautifully unique in that regard.

I feel that the beginning comments about Kristin were not meant to be malicious, nor did I think they were really; but now it's just turning into people who don't like her making really nasty remarks like most of the people on ATC or BroadwayWorld. It's not nice, and that's not what this particular forum is about.

P.S. Yay for my new icon pic being up. Thanks Kevin

So, in conclusion, Joel Grey's birthday party was great fun, and star studded (including Bernadette Peters and Kristen Chenoweth among others)! Happy Birthday, Joel!

kristin is not plain! she lives in my neighborhood and i've see her walking down the street many times sans makeup and hair and she is beautiful. maybe some of you should borrow her glasses, because i don't know where this characterization is coming from!

Is it me or has the word "plain" lost all meaning?
And no, I don't mean this in some deep sense, I just mean that I've forgotten what means, if you get my meaning. Know what I mean?

they say bernadette's wonderful..........and she is

Yeah, I know what you mean. In this particular thread the meaning of "plain" seems to have mutated into something along the lines of "conventionally pretty" or "attractive, but in an unexceptional manner", which is not really the true definition. But now we're really getting off-topic. Brandon, we need you to come back and sum it up again!

Ahh heck, I'll chime in just to make this the longest thread ever.........So who is this Kristin anyway? JUST KIDDING

Getting way back to Karen's 'You'll Never Know' comment, that was my Dad's favorite song which he quietly hummed every day for about 20 years.

So it is a very emotional number for me. I still can't believe Bernadette chose to do it.

Well, here's to long threads and comfortable beds......

Jim.

I love Bernadette's recording of YOU'LL NEVER KNOW. I always have. I thought it was funny that they used the song in IT RUNS IN THE FAMILY, but not the Bernadette version. I thought she should have re-recorded it for this film or something (then we could have a whole new album of standards from Bernafette) and the world would be a better place for it. Haha!

Yes, Diana Krall's voice and looks are way overrated. Let's bash her next. SORRY! (I couldn't resist).
