| posted: 3/29/2004 at 5:13:17 PM ET I hope that when the DVD is mastered that there are individual track indexes for all of the songs. I could watch Bernadette's performance in the school room everyday as its own little film short!

It does occur to me that (I think) this was the first really serious* piece of work that Bernadette did, rather than the light romantic comedy/muscials she did until then. (Which in no way shape or form devalues them, so noone go nuts, please!) What a time she must have had, exploring those dark places (as the actors like to say).
*Well, maybe Mack and Mabel was semi-serious, what with the drugs and death.

and the poster that it has eventually come to be known by

Okay, here is a fantasy. What if they shot the film as the script that Karen has indicates. But upon viewing the rushes, "managemet" decided the director needed to cut out the scene with the farm house and reshoot the scene when the police find them with their broken down car and the last scene to create a happier ending.
So then on the DVD they show the "Never before released" originally ending! Hey, a girl can dream, can't she?

Steve Martin is a very smart, articulate man (I highly recommend his fiction if anyone is looking for some reading) and I would love to hear his comments about the the farm house scenes and such.

Jean beat me to what I was going to say-I really have nothing of value to add to this discussion, since I've only watched PFH a few times, and it's been a year or two since the last time, but I am enjoying this very much. I'm looking forward to the DVD-it sounds like it will have good extras (no matter who does the commentary-I love them all).
