Special:Site_History

I was working at job that really made me sad for a variety of reasons. Having just seen Bernadette in Annie Get Your Gun, I was eager to see her in a solo concert. I got my chance in late October, 2000 at the McCarter Theater in Princeton. She was so incredibly perfect that night that and the Sondheim songs she sung made me feel better about myself and my stupid job. I came home that looking up her official site. To my surprise, I found a rather amateurish and unattractive site. I offered to help fix up the site but didn't receive much of a response.

I decided to make my own site for Bernadette that reflected my respect for her talents. Site development started November 17th, 2000. The domain name, bernadette-peters.com, was purchased Christmas Eve 2000 as a gift to myself for having completed so much work on the site. Development continued through the New Year and the first announcements on message boards and usenet were put out sometime in mid February. The first registered user created their account on 2/24/2001.

For an increased visitor experience, the site was moved to a hosting provider in Connecticut around mid-March.
