I remember that I heard somewhere (maybe here from one of you) that the reason Assassins closed was to renovate Studio 54 - the marquis is already up for Pacific Overtures. I know its not opening until November, but what gives?

That is correct. Studio 54 is going to receive a major renovation for Pacific Overtures. Assassins basically used what was somewhat designed for Cabaret (and left over from Studio 54's heyday).

Okay - I was just wondering if the renovations were just a ploy. I know its another Sondheim musical, but you never know...

More importantly it is another Roundabout Production. They now own Studio 54.
