In the third to last paragraph of Filichia's article it looks like he's saying that Sam Mendes was nominated for a Tony this year. Unfortunately he was not, so I'm a little confused.

Good Catch though he may be referring to Mendes being able to say the show he directed was nomiated for Best Revival which would have a lot to do with him. But I agree, it is kind of sloppy reporting.

Hey, they've rewritten the sentence since then and now it's correct. I bet they got some comments on it.
