I will have to see it this week.
Very Excited

| posted: 4/15/2003 at 10:55:09 AM ET I know 2 people that went to this past Thursday's (or maybe it was Friday) show. They said that some of the production people were still taking notes...particularly pertaining to lighting and staging. I'm really glad that they are putting a lot of effort into this show. It's already great, but it will just be mind-blowing after it officially opens!
I hope (I'm sure) Gypsy will be nominated for some Tony's. They will most likely be nominated in the best revival category, which means we will get to see a piece performed on television. I wonder which one they would do?

Then to get to see her in the theater, what a treat. The ensemble was well put together. THE PIT ORCHESTRA WAS AWESOME. BRAVO!!

You will find what those of us on this board thought of the first preview. There won't be any professional reviews of it, if that is what you are looking for. Critics should be coming the last week of previews.

| posted: 4/16/2003 at 1:06:45 PM ET I definitely think that Bernadette should perform "Rose's Turn" at the Tony's; it is, without a doubt, the greatest performed number in the show. Plus, it sort of summarizes the entire show, so why not!? lol

She'll definitely be nominated and I hope she wins over Marissa, who in my eyes, is her only competitor... Marissa was good but not great... By the by... When do the nominations even come out???

| posted: 4/16/2003 at 1:36:32 PM ET Christine, I agree it would be great to see Bernadette perform Rose's Turn but I'm concerned how it will come off, out of context on the Tonys. Just a couple of years ago, Faith Prince did her big 11th hour number from Bells are Ringing on the Tony's and it just didn't translate right for the telecast. Obvioulsy they need to pick a song that will show off their leading lady but also a song that will come off well in the context of the broadcast and draw people to the show. Some People might even be good because Bernadette has done it so many times in concert so she is comfortable doing it cold (without the play preceding it). Just my thoughts.
