| posted: 4/12/2007 at 4:10:15 PM ET So I was on Ebay just trying to see what cool Bernadette items that I could add to my collection that I don't already have and I found a Slaves of New York DVD new and sealed. I was quite happy because I only have a recorded off of TV vhs copy of it. Anyways It's bid was up to about $10.00. Which wasn't too bad plus $7.00 shipping. Well I ended up bidding on it and the other person's high bid kept beating me out. Finally I gave up at like $38.00 thinking that this DVD must be pretty hard to come by. I haven't seen it in any stores around me. Anyways, I decided to let the other bidder win and they are going to pay over $40.00 for it. This morning I got the end of auction and it showed me similiar items and I ended up buying it now for $7.00 plus shipping. Gosh I lucked out! Anyways, I thought you guys would appreciate this story, because you guys are as crazy about her as me. Anybody else have this on DVD?

From: Edinburgh, Scotland | posted: 4/13/2007 at 5:51:42 AM ET Hollie, Slaves Of New York is one of my favourite films. I really identified with Bernadette's character in that movie because my life in London was pretty much the same as her character's life in New York. That particular period found me newly divorced and happily setting out on my own again. It was almost impossible to find an affordable flat to rent in London as everyone was buying and selling property at the time. I didn't design hats but I did enjoy the crazy "art scene" with various creative and artistic people within my circle of friends. Each time I view Slaves Of New York DVD something new reveals itself to me. Bernadette is fantastic in this film and it is so nice to have her as the central character in a Merchant/Ivory film.
as Bernadette says....just keep moving on.....
