och aye, lassie, there's many a strange thing happens there. Monsters in the loch, large butch men wearing colourful skirts, strange sounding musical instruments, me.
All right, this is cross-posted from another forum:
It's hard to explain because it comes so naturally. Right now I really only communicate with two cats. One was my own (now deceased). We're even closer now than we were when he was alive. He usually offers me words of encouragement when I'm going through a hard time. I hear him, but not with my ears. I'm able to understand what he's saying. Sometimes I just feel his presence in the room. He often asked me to tell my mom how much he loves her and that she was a good mommy to him. The other cat I communicate with every day is Skipper. He's my friend's cat. Skipper is extremely talkative. He always has something to say. I've only met him in person once, but we're very close. He's shown me pictures of his home life which have turned out to be completely accurate. He even said he remembers his mommy's ex-boyfriend from ancient Egypt! That really shocked me. I've just always felt completely at ease with cats. They understand me in a way that humans can't.
In other book news, Mary Tyler Moore is working on a book about diabetes. It's called (right now) My Life With Diabetes, but it's more than just a memoir. She's also writing about treatment, complications, and the latest research. It should be out early next year, published by St. Martin's Press. She's getting research assistance from Kalia Donner.
