This is probably near the top of my list for Bernadette films that I need to see. I just adore strong maternal roles and I'm sure our lady is fabulous.
So, I echo awthentik732 saying if anyone knows how to get it, share your knowledge

I actually just copied my VHS of this movie to DVD last week. Then I realized it does not work on every DVD player. 
But I can send you both copies in the hopes that it will play on whatever players you have.

I agree, Jenny. I started watching it last year, got about halfway through, and haven't been able to finish it since. I really do want to see Bernadette performance, but it's just such a terrifying story.

Jenny,
It was originally a "Movie of the Week" on network television so it was considered a kind of general audience movie especially since it was well before television ratings were used. I agree it is an awful story, made even more awful because its a true story. I remember originally learning about the tragedy in the news.
Bernadette's performance is amazing but what I find almost more amazing is the performance of Matthew Lawrence who was only about 6 at the time. I can't imagine being such a baby and having to act that role and so convincingly too.

It's hard to believe he wasn't kept in prison for life.
Bernadette gives such a great performance, but the movie really is almost unbearable to watch. It's not surprising that it's never shown anymore.

Hi, It's very easy to track down as it is always on eBay UK every single week ... it comes from a seller in Ireland or the UK. if I remember correctly. Check out eBay.co.uk
as Bernadette says....just keep moving on.....
