And if their wedding is an entry, then Michael's death should be acknowledged. If no one wants to do it, I'll do it.

If the item is of a personal nature, it should be something that is very publicly known such as her time of birth, wedding date, etc. Essentially something that Bernadette (or an official representative for her) has made public about her personal life. Other personal things that a fan may know for some reason or another but is not widely known should not be included. I guess I leave it up to Kevin to monitor the items as he sees fit as I've always trusted his judgement (even if it wasn't his board :-)).
I think no one wants to put up the information about Michael's death because its just such a sad thing to write about and acknowledge but yes, I agree, its a major milestone in her life and should be included. Jenn, got for it.

By the way, I am not in denial and I'm not really sad, it's just that I've put 2 items on the board already about it and I'm feeling like the bearer of extremely bad news.

And, I agree 100 % with moljul. We have to make some reasoned calls about items, but I've got a feeling we will all be in general agreement, and I think what moljul said sums it up nicely.
But, as a guiding principle for me personally, I'll take what Karen said and apply it. IE professional accomplishments only.

And I only meant, as moljul says:
"If the item is of a personal nature, it should be something that is very publicly known such as her time of birth, wedding date, etc."
The date of her husband's death, her father's and mother's (that's ALL I put there, just mark the date), they are markers, milestones, in her life, as for anybody.
NEVER anything that would embarrass her OR her fans.
Nor a rehash of sad events. Just a marker of where events occurred in a timeline, which I thought was what you were building.

On April 20, I had added her parents names and place of birth to her date of birth.
I actually agree with you...I think! But, to clarify, for me the "event" is professional accomplishment.

Registered: 5/3/2002 | posted: 4/28/2006 at 7:43:22 PM ET I agree with everyone!!
My original thought was that we didn't need a "personal life" category as suggested, because there's so little info out there that it would be unnecessary. On the other hand it might be useful anyway, even if it stays relatively small and only includes a few major events.
It's certainly not like some celebs where you could easily have a two-mile timeline of divorces, arrests, hospitalizations, custody battles, controversial political statements, lawsuits, rehab stints, etc.

I made the suggestion feeling full well that tastefulness of Fanadettes on this site would reign.
That Ms. Peters is NOT that sort of celeb (i.e. "two-mile timeline of divorces, arrests, hospitalizations, custody battles, controversial political statements, lawsuits, rehab stints, etc." ugh) is a major reason why we love her, no?

Registered: 6/7/2003 | posted: 5/1/2006 at 9:50:44 AM ET Karen's entry on the George M tv special, that imdb.com had the wrong release date, got me interested. I sent a note to IMDB.com, citing why I thought it should be 1970--sure enough, today I noticed they changed it. Fun to have some effect, thanks, Karen.
(All you have to do is register with a valid email address--I cited a New York Times tv listing for the correct date, so it wasn't as if I had just made up an arbitrary date.)

Registered: 3/17/2006 | posted: 5/1/2006 at 2:55:36 PM ET I noticed that on, "Bob Hope's Women I Love--Beautiful But Funny," Bernadette was "featured." Did anyone see this special? I was just wondering what she did ... sing a song? or did they just show a clip of a past time she was on one of his specials?
| Karen Registered User
Registered: 5/3/2002 | posted: 5/3/2006 at 10:05:31 PM ET To clarify, "featured" was my own choice of words. I haven't seen the show, but from the description in a reference book it sounded as though possibly most of the women listed were just in clips--there were so many that it's hard to believe they were all really there. But I'm not positive. Possibly someone else has actually seen it and would know for sure.

It's getting pretty big I'm going to have to look at ways to make it easier to browse. Suggestions?

Don't need the "photo" category;
Maybe split the "music" into "concerts" and "recordings" ;
perhaps add "awards/nominations".
I LOVE the timeline!
