From: NYC | posted: 6/26/2005 at 11:52:23 AM ET Karen - there is Sisterhood talk about going to Bethlehem - it should be an enchanted evening for sure. I know emails have been going back and forth about it. I'm not when the tickets go on sale to general public. I think PA Fan is the captain of this project.
I have always been a fan of live performances in general. Its the real test of talent in my opinion. I'm a huge fan of Broadway and opera but seeing a performer in concert is the ultimate personal experience with that performer. Some just get up, sing and leave without giving you anything of themself - but some have that magic touch to pull you in and you feel like you're in their living room. I have seen hundreds of concerts from performers in many different genres. Bernadette is one of these performers who draws you in and makes you feel like she's singing to you. Her banter is scripted for the most part, but she's brilliant at delivering it - a true comedienne. (Bette is like this as well). It is thrilling to see her glamour on stage and she gives 110%. Ashley is with me (Mandy already had to hit the road since she is headed to California tomorrow - she's going to be at the Hollywood Bowl concert - yes I'm jealous) and she agrees - she went to the Boston as well. Her input is similar - she feels like Bernadette is singing to her. She also adds that she has noticed that the audience seems like they are respectful, knowledgeable, well-educated in general and almost like a family - we're all there for this special event. I would mostly agree with this - there are the patrons of the particular venue who will go to any concert because its in their package, or the socialites who will go because its the right to place to be seen...but there are the real fans, who whether or not are as dedicated as those of us who post on this board, have followed her career and are invested in seeing her mulitiple times. For instance, the ladies we met who work at Broadway Barks had seen her in Fort Lauderdale and also before at other venues over the years and are committed to seeing her again (I hope they will post here so they share their humorous tales with us all). We saw other people we recognized from Boston too. Its when you make connections with other fans at the stage door that you realize how much Bernadette has touched people. Ashley is pointing out how amazing it is that Bernadette (input from me - and Kevin because of this board) has brought such a wide range of people together - we are from all over the US and are from all walks of life. It is really is amazing and special. I have to say that some of you are the best adult friends I've made in years. Even Moljul was telling us that she has known some of you and others since the pre-Kevin Bernadette board and is best friends with some - it is just a thrilling thing. I don't think I've heard of anything else like and most of friends from work or home are astonished the connections I've made.
(Okay we just got really excited about Bethlehem - ROAD TRIP!)

From: NYC | posted: 6/26/2005 at 12:02:16 PM ET LOL- oh yeah I didn't know Moljul liked me so much. hahahaha Actually I wasn't too surprised by it because usually its Chip who's sitting to next me, grabbing me out of excitement.
I always forget to say anything about Bernadette choreography in Fever - it so great. Also, only in Houston so far as the red light come on at the end of Fever when she's posing on the piano. It is fantastic - I wish you could have all seen it. I saw light there but for some reason they didn't turn it on.
And Jean, as I said Mandy already left so she rush home to pack...but Ashley and I are going to lunch somewhere and then she is seeing "The Light in the Piazza" by herself so you're welcome to boogy up and join her! I actually wanted to go again too but my bank account is prohibiting such a venture....and Ashley is one of those students, you know, the fortunate ones who get the discount! Argh! I'm still looking for a fake student id. ha ha.

Sister, I think you put your finger on something in your comparison between a play/musical and a concert; thanks for the food for thought.
I was just joshing with ya about today--I'm off now myself to see "Once on This Island". But I do have tickets for "Piazza" in July.
[I'm not sure whether I'll be going to any of the concerts but I'm thinking Norfolk. Although, if I can get a good seat to Bethlehem I might join you.]

From: NYC | posted: 6/26/2005 at 4:40:31 PM ET Oh I hope you will come to Bethlehem - many of us want to meet you! And the two funny ladies that we met last night had a hysertical point about the Norfolk concert - the Navy is there and so those sailors won't know what hits them when they have Bernadette in their presence! I hope they won't have been at sea for too long! hahaha
I forgot to tell everybody that since Bernadette was in a rush, we didn't have time to ask questions of her or Patty about the upcoming CD releases.

I was under the impression that her fans would like to hear from an acquaintance of BP and Meredith Baxter, but apparently I was mistaken.
