Thanks, az.
You know, from now on, whenever someone says "is she miscast" or "is she too [young] [old] [cute] [short] [thin]" or "can't sing the songs" or [SHE ISN'T MERMAN] I'm going to pull out Andrew Gans lovely paragraph on Bernadette in Gypsy (which I'm planning on printing out and making into a hand-out), and save my breath!

Thoughts for a week-end morning, off to New York but not for anything as exciting as Linnie.

That article was amazing. It has to be one of the best compliments i have read about her in the show. It is so true to. I mean my mother who does not cry often started tearing up and then crying at the end of Rose's Turn because of all the talent that she possess. We still are in awe that she didn't win the Tony but that is old news. Bernadette is for sure one of the greatest musical stars ever. And the great part is is that she always comes back to Broadway>

I totally agree!! Bernadette is truly a triple threat. She hasn't conformed to one specific genre in performance. She does what she WANTS to do, and what she feels is worthy artistically. And the fact that she always returns to Broadway for long runs says a lot. There aren't many stars out their like her--she gives all of us who want to perform such a wonderful hope!!!

"Take off your jacket!"--Joan Rivers to Bernadette
"TAKE OFF YOUR DRESS!!"--Bernadette's reply.
