See headers | Hi,
Chris, you are RIGHT ON. Sondheim, all the way baby. My opinions on ALW
will be doubted by some, but if you check you will find out I am RIGHT.
"The Music of the Night" from Phanton, was directly lifted, strings and
all from the Puccini opera, "La Faniculla Del West". Everyone I have
played it for says no question. If you go to the library, one way to
check for free, go to second act, no more than ten minutes will pass,
and there is the melody we all know supposedly "composed" by ALW. What
better way to steal music than by lifting from a rather obsure opera?
After all, Puccini can't sue him. When he uses Billy Wilder's words
(Sunset Blvd.) and Pucinni's music, he really not only goes down a peg,
but down the entire ladder.
